The Leader's
Journey
This
unique cultural and adventure experience parallels each participant's
leadership journey. During the program, we will learn about ourselves
and the world we live in and examine the Inka civilization, current
Peruvian culture and the amazing land - "Pachamama"
Starting in May, we will to know each other through conference calls
and Bay Area gatherings. We will support each other in our preparation
for the trip including physical training, discussing cultural and
leadership background materials and considering our objectives for
the trip.
While in Peru,
we will spend two weeks traveling between Lima, Cuzco, The Sacred
Valley, trekking the Salkantay Trail and discovering Machu Picchu.
We will explore the Andean spiritual traditions and look into how
our beliefs and practices have shaped our history and guide our
future. We will also consider the physical, emotional and intellectual
aspects of our leadership journey and reflect how best to move forward
into our next levels of leadership. The trip has a balanced blend
of group and individual time and includes trekking, touring and
relaxing.
After our return,
we will join together for a final session to talk about how our
journey has affected our lives, what we are doing differently in
our worlds now and what lies ahead.
One of the key
focus areas of this program will be the importance of strong relationships
for leaders - especially women. Your new relationships will be key
take-aways from your leadership journey.
Award Winning
Travel
Our Machu Picchu
Adventure travel experience has been custom designed by OCSC Sailing
Adventure Group in Berkeley in partnership with Leo LeBon, legendary
founder of Mountain Travel Sobek. They will provide all of our travel
arrangements while in Peru.
With expert
guides, we will tour ancient Andean sites and trek the "hidden
Inka trail" - the award-winning Salkantay Trail - to Machu
Picchu. This trail was recently developed by one of our speakers,
Enrique Umbert, Senior, as luxury lodge-to-lodge trekking experience
and has been honored as "Top Trips" by National Geographic's
Adventure and Outside's GO magazines. Our lodging is
mostly 4 and 5 star and the food is exceptional - especially the
famous Nuevo-Andean cuisine.
